I’ve decided to write this blog as a motivating tool (for me! but maybe others will benefit too!) because I’ve made up my mind to run the Masterton marathon in October 2015. This won’t be my first marathon, but my last one was back in 1993, so I feel a bit daunted by this task!
Today I ran about 6km in 39:40 – not bad. There was a cold southerly, but it was a flat run, around the coast. I ran a bit faster than I usually do, and I felt that towards the end!
My first ‘mini-goal’ is to run the ‘Round the Bays’ half-marathon in February. So for the next six or seven weeks I just want to build up my mileage – get used to 35-40 km per week.
So… I’ve started!
