Day 65

After a rest day yesterday, I went to the gym to run intervals on the treadmill. The plan was 7x800m at about 10k race pace, with 2 minutes jogging between each interval. I managed OK, covering 9km in all. It was hot work in the gym, but I felt pretty good, and gradually increased the interval pace up to about 5k race pace.

Although it can be uncomfortably hot running in the gym, I can feel more confident about hitting the pace I want. It’s also easier than running in the wind! However, I’ll almost always do my tempo runs outside – just so that I get the feel of running hard into the wind!
